~Alignments~

Alignments are chosen by those who wish to follow various aspects of life within the lands. Depending on which Alignment you pick, your life can take a very different direction. Some Alignments will help you to focus your Ki (energy) more efficiently by reducing aethers of your spells. There are three different Alignments to chose from:

Ming-Ken - Life: The alignment of life, though, not necessarilly light. There are such spells that unleash the furies of nature along side the bounties of Awen. To be Ming-Ken is to love and cherish life, nature, and do so by defending it. The poets of Ming-Ken can rejuvenate life from the dead all around, in a five way ressurection known as "Ming-Ken's blessing". Warriors are given a weaker whirlwind, however, they only go down to 10% of their vitality. Generally, one is more adept in the healing arts as a Ming-Ken, rather than fighting.

Life and light: Ming-Ken is followed by those who cherish life in all forms and seek to protect it. Warriors who follow the way of Ming-Ken are given a weaker whirlwind which brings their vitality down to 10% of its base when the attack is executed. To become a follower of Ming-Ken go to the temple in Islets

30/84 Islets

Ohaeng - Balance: The alignment of balance, which is the alignment of both life and death. Ohaeng is the absolute center of the universe, where all twirls around its core, of all things and their opposites. To become Ohaeng is to be in tune with both nature and with the after-life, though not as powerful as one nor the other. Great thunders and hurricanes are summoned forth by the Mages, and Warriors receive the same whirlwind deal as they did with Ming-ken. Generally, one is over all more balanced in both fighting and healing. Not more powerful in one than the other. The Ohaeng alignment is followed by those who wish to find a greater sense of peace within, a great balance between Life and Death. Those who follow Ohaeng get the benefit of both Ming-Ken (altered Whirlwind) and of Kwi-Sin but the benefits from each are not as powerful as those of the true alignment. To become a follower of Ohaeng go to the temple in the Wilderness (78/184)

Kwi-Sin - After-life: The alignment of death and the spirit world, Kwi-Sin indulges into the depths of the energies of our ancestors and brings their power and blessings to us -- or their torment. The Kwi-Sin have powers to deny death or to open the door and push their doomed victims through the threshold to the pits of the underworld. Warriors here are superior in their whirlwind attacks, at the price however of being sent down normally to 10 vitality. This makes them more vulnerable, and more in tune with the death that they might meet alot sooner than they had expected. Generally, one's attack is alittle stronger to ensure their victim is sent to the spirit-world, however they are not so adept in the healing arts as we know the Ming-ken are.  Death and darkness: Kwi-Sin is the alignment of those who have passed beyond. They are not necessarily evil and gain their Ki (energy) from those who have gone on before them, typically from their ancestors. Warriors who follow the Kwi-Sin alignment will have a superior whirlwind attack but there is a great price to pay for such power. Upon execution of the attack, the user is brought down to just 10 vitality and sits on the brink of death. The sacrifice for this is the great healing powers of the Ming-Ken as well as the ability that Ohaeng and Ming-Ken share to be more secure in regards to remaining alive after devastating attacks. To become a follower of Kwi-Sin go to the temple in the Arctic Village (0056, 0021)
